Finance & Accounting
We are the trusted finance & accounting partner to the NHS
We enable our NHS partners to transfer their investment and resource focus from repetitive, transactional work, to transformational projects and frontline patient care by delivering a range of value-added services, via technology that's continually evolving.
Every year on behalf of the NHS, among other things, we manage £225bn in cash, recover over £20bn of debt and almost £800m of VAT, and process over six and a half million accounts payable transactions. We provide services to around two thirds of all NHS organisations including NHSE. This operational scale allows us to attain, and pass on to our partners, levels of efficiency, cost-effectiveness and operational resilience that are unachievable for individual NHS systems.
We are a safe pair of hands; but the NHS never stands still and nor do we. Our technological expertise and commitment to continuous reinvestment, made possible by our joint venture partnership with Sopra Steria, drives a programme of constant service evolution and new service development, co-produced with our clients and underpinned by emerging digital and automation technologies.
We were delighted to win 'Digital Finance Project of the Year' at the prestigious Public Finance Awards 2020, for our sector-leading Robotic Process Automation programme. This award celebrates digital projects that demonstrate outstanding and innovative approaches to improving efficiency, significant improvements in outcomes, an improved customer experience, and supporting speed and accuracy in decision-making.
Our pioneering use of Robotic Process Automation to carry out repetitive financial processing tasks was acknowledged at the 2020 HTN awards, where we won in the 'Efficiency Savings of the Year' category. The judges of the awards, which celebrate great technology, partnerships, teams and innovations making a difference across health and care, recognised that our deployment of robots delivers improved speed and accuracy, greater efficiencies, and an enhanced NHS user experience.
