Framework Agreement Description
The inventory management and neutral wholesale services framework aims to utilise information already existing within organisations' systems. Utilising the systems already in place, the framework aims to produce clearer demand planning, reduce the amount of stock held, and strengthen stock management through more accurate usage capture. The framework also aims to increase ordering efficiency by moving towards JIT, consolidation of orders, deliveries and invoices to one supplier. This framework for inventory management and neutral wholesale is divided into four lots; neutral wholesale services, consultancy, inventory management software and inventory management hardware.

What does the framework cover?
The aim of this procurement is to utilise information already existing within each NHS SBS member's systems to produce clearer demand planning, reduce the amount of stock held, strengthen stock management through more accurate usage capture, increase ordering efficiency by moving towards JIT, consolidation of orders, deliveries and invoices to one supplier.
This procurement is split into four lots:
• Lot 1 - Neutral Wholesale Services
• Lot 2 - Consultancy
• Lot 3 - Inventory Management Software
• Lot 4 - Inventory Management Hardware
What are the benefits of using the framework?
• IMPROVED INVENTORY CONTROL
Using inventory management systems combined with a neutral wholesale partner, product will be traceable from demand to use. Understanding of stock usage patterns to prevent reliance on stock holding.
• DESIGNATED CONSULTANCY LOT
Change management projects from qualified consultancy firms to deliver process efficiencies and cash releasing savings through process re-engineering, cultural and behavioural change.
• INTEGRATED IT SYSTEMS
Inventory management software and hardware will fully integrate with NHS systems. Lots 3 and 4 provide support across stock control, product track and trace, demand planning, system maintenance and back up facilities.
• BUY-BACK FOR OVERSTOCKED AREAS
An initial review of stock will be carried out and overstocked lines with continued usage will be purchased by the neutral wholesaler giving a lump sum to the Trust.
