On the Horizon
About to roll out for pilot testing is Horizon, our cloud-based, integrated financial intelligence tool, which enables NHS organisations to create robust plans, budgets and forecasts to meet the requirements of the regulator and run their organisations more efficiently and effectively.
Developed in partnership with CCH Tagetik, a leader in world-class corporate performance management solutions, Horizon has nonetheless been created by and for the NHS. Cambridgeshire Community Services, Southern Health, Southport & Ormskirk, Bradford District Care and University Hospitals Plymouth NHS Trusts have all played fundamental roles in ensuring the platform meets the unique needs of NHS finance teams, and will be even more pivotal to the product's development when they serve as pilot sites for the live platform early in the new year.
Integrated with Oracle and Electronic Staff Record, Horizon increases the accuracy of, and confidence in, the planning and budgeting numbers by automating data input, rather than relying on a combination of multiple spreadsheets as many NHS organisations do at present. The platform has built-in top down and bottom up in-depth planning for current and subsequent year, and summary level top down planning for years 3-5, driving long-term plans and deep-dive views as needed.
As a cloud-based system the data and insightful, real-time analytics are available on desktop or laptop, whenever and wherever users are online, empowering stakeholder meetings anywhere. Most importantly, the system has a fully version-controlled audit trail informing any necessary data investigations and demonstrating robust change control processes and organisational financial rigour.
